*The signing of the peace accord with Jordan opened up an oppurtinity we didn't miss. located only 25 kms from the Arava border crossing (where the actual ceremonies took place) we were among the first tour companies to cross the border with groups. In a matter of weeks we gained firsthand experience of a new country and desert that is more exciting than we imagined.

copper in the Timna Valley.
This tour explores the geological
process that shaped the area as well as
the development of technologies of
mining and producing copper.
Walk through the ancient copper mines and unravel their mysteries with the aid of aerial photographs.
Tour the modern mining operations
Nehushtimna: a 20 minute demostration ilustrates ancient and modern methods of copper production.
Aerial photograph, topographical maps and color photographs guide us through
a unique encounter with various facets of the desert environment:
*Geology in Shehoret Canyon.
*Botany in Nahal Ya'alon.
*Archaeology in the ancient copper mines of Timna Valley.
Excellent activity for both youth and adults. Each of the tree routes available is short but exciting.
These may be use in a larger educational framework, as part of a longer hike, in combination or
individually.
Walk among white sandstone formations and ancient copper mine explore the long shadows of Solomon's Pillars: view the famous "mushroom" formation: and complete the tour by the shimmering waters of the Timna Oasis
